Hello fellow crafters! I hope you had a great holiday season. I have been off work for three weeks (one of the perks to being a teacher) and I’m not sure if I’m ready to go back yet. I do miss my kids, but sleeping in has been REALLY nice.
Today, I realized that I need to create some get-well cards; I have a family member who needs a feel-better card to cheer her up. Sadly, with all the cards I’ve been making I still don’t have any get well cards. I also noticed that I don’t have sympathy cards. What’s a girl to do? I went in search of challenges for inspiration, and I found the perfect sketch on Sunday Stamps. Challenges are a great way to get some cards made – be sure to play along 🙂
I used a Cotton Candy Card Base, and Lagoon for the Mat. I also “created” pattern paper by stamping the “feel better” sentiment from a hostess only stamp, Cuddly Salutations, randomly all over a piece of White Daisy Cardstock. The stars are from the Great Job stamp set. I used Close To My Heart’s scallop border punch to scallop the edge. The small piece of pattern paper and the sticker are from a retired set called Lolly Doodle (I couldn’t resist the colorful and cheery pattern). I also stamped the dog from Cuddly Salutations and used a clay Shin Han Marker to color him in.
Little Trick: The blending marker can also be used to remove color for small details (like this cute puppy’s spots).
