I’m back with a new card. I decided to try something new for this one. I wanted to enter Heart 2 Heart’s banner challenge (I’m a bit behind on the challenge entries) and I needed to make a bridal shower card. After a bit of thought I realized that the banner would be a perfect way to add a bit of color to the black and white card. Here is a picture of the card and my process and materials are below.
Since I don’t have any stamps for weddings (yet), I decided to use my Cricut. I cut the trifold card and white insert from Creative Cards. I cut a formal dress from the Formal Occasions Cartridge on White Daisy cardstock and embossed it with the Simple Flowers CuttleBug that came with my Cuttlebug Embosser Folder. I added Close to My Heart silver Shimmer Trim at the waist of the dress. To add color (and meet the challenge requirements) I cut a banner from the Creative Card Cartridge using the Lollydoodle paper pack. When I opened the card, the black side of the banner showed, so I cut the colored pieces again to glue onto the side that showed when the card was open. I decided that the other part of the inside was to dark and boring so I added gifts from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge.
I really like the way this card turned out. I love when the challenges give me new ideas and things to try. Please join the fun challenges over at Heart 2 Heart!
